Affordable Reading Tutoring for Students in Grades 2-5
Student tutoring enrollment for the 2024-25 school year is now closed. Registration for 2025-26 tutoring will open August 11, 2025.
Soar Detroit has tutored thousands of children in Detroit since 2005 with consistent results.
Students experience an average improvement of more than 2 reading grade levels in one year of tutoring!
Tutoring is open to children in grades 2-5 who are 1 or more levels below grade expectations.
TUTORING AT SOAR DETROIT

Individualized lesson plans specific to their reading needs.
One-on-one tutoring two days a week.
Decoding, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary-building sessions

$35 /month for first child. $25/month for sibling(s)

Tutoring is open to students in grades 2-5 only.
Students will need to complete a Soar Detroit reading assessment prior to placement.
Completion of the registration form is not a guarantee of acceptance into the program. Final acceptance is at the exclusive discretion of Soar Detroit. Factors such as the availability of tutors and academic needs will play a part in the final decision.
Students are expected to be on time and attend every session. Students who cannot maintain at least 80% attendance or who are excessively tardy may be removed from the program.
